This picuture was taken at Kimberly's elemantary school's Junior Olympic "field days" in Seoul, Korea. Her 3rd grade class chose to represent he Bahamas in the spring competition. (May 2005) She competed and placed in various events and won 2nd place in the 800, (running against all of the other 3rd and 4th graders!) and her swim team came in 1st in the back stroke relay.

The summer of 2005 was unique in that Jessica got to celebrate her "Golden Birthday"---turning the age of the 'date' your birthday falls on...for example, Jessica's Golden Birthday was her eighth because her birthday falls on the 8th day of August. Her's was even more special because her birthday is 8/8. (Jessica REALLY felt like she should be in Beijing last summer for the opening ceremonies of the Summer Olympics because they started on her birthday: 8/8/08 at 8 pm!) So, our family was able to ride in a hot air balloon in Park City, UT on Aug. 8, 2005. Kimberly thought that it was an amazing and beautiful ride! (Kenna was too little to ride. She stayed with Grammy and Papa who had come into town for Jessica's baptism.)

THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL! (August 2005) Kimberly is 9, ready to start 4th grade! Jessica, 8 heading to 3rd grade. Sydney, only 4 going to her first day of (all-day) Jr. Kindergarten. Kenna...gets mom all to herself...for a few hours a day!
China had always been one of our destination dream spots. Living in Korea all of those years made travel in Asia possible!! In October of 2005, right before our departure back to America, we were able to experience Beijing for 10 days! What an amazing place! Preparation for the 2008 Olympics was well under way. We had an amazing time going, seeing and experiencing CHINA. Thanks Kent for making it possible for our family to have such amazing opportunities.
