Are you ready for #6? Our family loves celebrating the 4th of July! Honoring our country and celebrating her birthday with red, white & blue pride is just...AWESOME! In 2010 we finally got to see for ourselves the amazing production that Melaleuca puts on for Idaho Falls! WOW! What an AWESOME fireworks show!! One of the best we've ever seen.....and the parade, Firecracker 5K, yummy food booths & other stuff on the River Walk, were all wonderful too. But the best part of the whole weekend was being there for Spencer Blanchard's Baby Blessing!! What an amazing Baby Boy. It was a beautiful experience to witness his blessing. I'm grateful for the power of the Preisthood here on earth, and for the Blessings of the Priesthood. I'm also very grateful for my husband who honors his preisthood.
Dawn & Nate were amazing hosts with yummy food & their home was THE place to hang out for everyone all weekend. Thanks for such a fun July 4th Weekend! We love you guys!!
The July 4th festivities took place on Saturday July 3rd. Here's the Holiday Gang gathered at a sweet spot near the finish line for the 5K & the end of the parade! A few of us ran the 5K (Me, Kimberly, Jessica, Sydney, Brian, Kelli, Lindsey, Robert, Jill, Ethan, Nate Blanchard, and who else am I forgetting???) All of us runners had lots of support along the way...plenty of family cheering for us! Thanks, everybody:) The morning of the 5K/Parade was pretty chilly. And after the race, we had quite a wait till the parade finally reached our location. So, lots of blankets kept us warm for the first bit. And then the sun came out and it felt so good! The kids had fun watching all of the various entries in the parade (hey we're used to Ten Sleep parades that last about 3 min!)

The night of the 3rd we gathered at the Shilo Inn, the best location in Idaho Falls to view the Fireworks show, at the spot previously scouted out by Nate Blanchard (their family has been doing this for years!). We pread our blankets & jackets quickly to mark our territory. There was a beautiful sunset that evening which we enjoyed before the fireworks show began. Some VIP's were on sight to watch the fireworks, but apparantly there was a tree blocking their view, so the Pres. of Melaleuca ordered to have the tree cut down. Little did they know that there was a nest with baby birds in the tree....oh the naturists & conservationists would have a hey day with this story!! Well, in the end, Melaleuca made sure that the baby birds were taken to a special location to be taken care until they were old enough to be released on their own. And Melaleuca replaced the tree by planting a new one on location at the Shilo Inn. After all of the commotion....the show began, and boy, we sure were NOT disappointed! It was AWESOME! Brian contacted Jake Bean, and both his family as well as his Mom & Dad came to the fireworks. We had fun catching up with them. Sure glad we went considering Nate just resigned from Melaleuca a couple of weeks ago!

The next morning on July 4th, we attended Dawn & Nate's ward to witness the blessing of Spencer Blanchard! What a precious little baby boy he is. Here is Spencer looking very handsome in his blessing outfit...
