Brooke loved EVERY minute of the "hunt". Looking, spotting, walking, hiking, exploring, but I think her favorite thing is just being with her Daddy---especially when he lets her sit on his shoulders. The world is so much easier to see from up there!!
After spending hours driving in the truck, walking the hills and canyons scouting out the antelope and finding a "big one"...Dad finally shot one. Then came the hike to find where the buck decided to "rest". Walking and looking...
Do you see it?
The poor antelope sure did bleed a lot...not making for the best photos, sorry! But, the girls loved being able to see the hunt through to the very end. Actually the "very end" will be cooking and eating the meat, right?
Here's some proof of just how much Brooke *loved* this day with her Dad! (I already mentioned that right?) Despite just how "bloody" it was. Brooke was the official "Antelope Leg Holder" while Dad gutted and cleaned the buck.
Grandpa was also there and got to be the coyote slayer. Here's a picture to prove it:

hahaha i love that post sooooo much! my dad's a hunter too, and we loved being his little sidekick on his spotting/hunting adventures! i don't know if we ever bloodied our hand quite like that, but we did "go" in all sorts of places, and we loved being with our dad! your girls are so awesome :)
i seriously can't take too many more blogs or pictures though cuz i'm just missing you guys so much! love ya!
Wow, I am impressed with Kent's hunting skills. Hunting with kids is no small feat. Jared will take Ben with him, occasionally, but not when he actually wants to get something. And yes, we went to Neilson's!
Are you kidding me!?!? No fear at all around all that blood! Go girls! I love the last photo too!
That was awesome!! Those girls will know how to fend for themselves alright! I went with my dad hunting but it involved me playing in the camping trailer and not touching the gross animals he killed.
Great post and great photos! How old is Brooke? You are sure raising some tough girls! Love the last photo!
That was an awesome post! I will NEVER show this post to anyone in my family because I got them all thinking I was all tough holding down deer legs so Jake could gut it when we were first married...in my 20's...and here's cute little Brooke doing it when she's 3! Your girls are going to be so well-rounded, haha :)
